ARDMORE, OK--Summer reading programs are wrapping up all over Texoma but organizers said the learning experience is far from over.

Today dozens of children took part in an interactive storytelling activity. Throughout the month of June the Chickasaw regional library system hosted several free reading events that included magicians, storytellers, and balloon artists, all in part to promote summer reading.

You read books in school? Hmmm. It doesn't appear the gift of the English language and grammar rubbed off on you.

that all sounds good but in todays kids you think they are going to give up all that free summer time, reading books? the computer games is what they will waste their life doing 24/7 under the air conditioner and piggin out on mcdonalds death food, but it is not so bad as reading books i read in schools that later in life i found out was lies, you know the school text books,i know you probably wont post this because im just being honest, the truth can sometimes sound negitive and hurt, but its still the truth not an opinion,oh well, tryed to tell it anyway.

My daughter finished Kindergarden in May adding/subtracting single digits...I have here now doing 4 digit numbers, carrying the one, ect in a little more than 3 weeks. By first grade in spring I will have her doing multiplication and division. There is no substitute for parental guidance...
