SHERMAN, TX-Some Texoma parents are taking extra precautions to make sure their children don't get West Nile.

Chip Adami's daughters practice soccer twice a week and he said they schedule practices so all the athletes get home before dusk.
Curtis Smith said his son practices football everyday and he makes sure his son puts on mosquito repellent before heading out to the field.

"No, because I mean, we've moved up practice earlier so they should get out of here before sundown and that's a good time when mosquitoes are out. At least that's all we hear, so if you can get them out of here before sundown then it should be okay for the kids," said Smith.

"I think you have to be a little bit concerned. But overall I don't think it can stop your activity, encourage the girls to put on sunscreen and bug spray and come out and play soccer. Hopefully if they're moving like they should be, then mosquitoes can't catch us," said Adami.
