An upper level wave will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Wednesday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats, 1 to 4 inches...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
The heat's not putting a damper on the enthusiasm for high school football in Texoma.
Despite the hot weather several area schools are finding ways to continue practicing. Lone Grove head coach Kenny Ridley says his team practices in the evening, and with a new water station as well as unlimited water breaks the boys are ready to rumble.
"They've really paid the price this summer, and suffered through the 110 degree days, and this is really a piece of cake so far," Ridley said.
Ridley says safety is always first, and that thankfully so far they've had no problems due to the extreme temperatures.
