Durant to begin charging late fees on overdue utilities
DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - The City of Durant will begin charging late fees on past-due utility bills in July.
The city says they will add penalties to past-due accounts and will send a second notice for a disconnect date.
Once the account has been cut off, a $50 non-payment fee will be added.
The city asks utility customers to make arrangements before the cutoff date to avoid the fee and suspension of services.
City officials say they have not disconnected utility services for nonpayment since the state of emergency declaration.
