Sports 12 Rewind: Hayden Baillio

(KXII) - Former Whitesboro track and field standout Hayden Baillio was a massive success for the Bearcats in 2009.

Baillio was not only a 3-time state champion in the shot put, he also won state twice in the discus. He set state records in both events. Baillio was named TAAF Texas Athlete of the Year in 2008. He earned a spot on the USA Today 2009 All-USA team. He had the best throw in the nation his senior year when he tossed the shot 75 feet 4 3/4 inches.

He won the shot and discus at the 2008 Summer Games of Texas as well. After high school, he had a terrific career with the Texas Longhorns.
