Gov. Kevin Stitt tests positive for COVID-19
OKLAHOMA CITY (KXII) - Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt announced Wednesday morning that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Stitt says the positive result came back around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and he began isolating and contact tracing immediately.
He says he has mild symptoms and does not know where he contracted the virus.
Stitt says his wife Sarah and his children have all tested negative.
When asked whether he should have worn a mask more often or have been more cautious, he said, “I really don’t second guess anything.”
Stitt is the first governor in the United States to test positive for COVID-19.
One of Stitt’s cabinet members, David Ostrowe, tested positive for the coronavirus in March.
