Man killed in Sherman crash while trying to help another driver

SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - A man is dead after being hit by a semi Saturday night while trying to help someone else.
Sherman police say around 11:30 p.m., a truck pulling a trainer with a Conex box was headed north on U.S. Highway 75 near FM 691 when it was rear-ended by another car.
The car caught fire, and two men pulled over to help.
Police say one of those two men saw a semi-truck coming toward them on the highway and pushed the other man out of the way to save him.
The man was hit by the semi and died at the scene.
The driver of the car that caught fire was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police say the highway was closed from around midnight to 3 a.m. Sunday.
