McCurtain County reports 2 more COVID-19 deaths, 5th most in state

MCCURTAIN COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 13 additional COVID-19 deaths in the state Thursday, including two more in McCurtain County.

Health officials say the newest reported deaths in the county are a man and woman over the age of 65. This brings the total number of deaths in McCurtain County’s to 25, a rate of about 76 deaths per 100,000 residents based on U.S. Census 2019 data.

Only four counties in Oklahoma -- Tulsa County, Oklahoma County, Cleveland County and Washington County-- have reported more deaths.

McCurtain County also confirmed five additional positive COVID-19 cases Thursday for a total of 814, the sixth-highest number in the state. There are 104 active cases in the county with 814 recoveries.
