ARDMORE, Oklahoma (KXII) - People from all over the country traveled to Ardmore to compete in a horse competition this weekend that’s raising money to send kids to college.

The All American Appaloosa Congress made it’s way to the Hardy Murphy Coliseum for a three-day competition, with competitors as young as three years old.

Carla Peacock runs the non-profit to educate, train and get people involved with Appaloosa horses.

Competitors pay a fee to compete, and all the money raised will fund scholarships for kids within the Appaloosa community.

”Next year, we may do something more lofty. If we get enough money raised we’re going to start giving some of the kids scholarships to get into higher education,” Peacock said.

As of Saturday night, they had raised $2,500.
