WHITESBORO, Texas (KXII) - The Whitesboro Bearcats are coming off a two-deep playoff run in 2019 and are looking to build on it.
It was great way to kickoff the Cody Fagan era. The second year Bearcat coach was able to step in and a get a buy in from his players. Now, after a full year in the new system the confidence levels are high.
“We are light years ahead of where we were last year, offense, defense and special teams,” Fagan said. “All schemes are 100% installed and now it’s just perfecting effort and making sure our technique is right within those schemes.”
The Bearcats lose a big senior class with some key contributors, but help is on the way. Whitesboro performed well at the lower levels and have several young players coming up, ready to make an impact on Friday nights.
“We want to play on Thanksgiving and beyond,” Fagan said. “We made it to the second round last year, we have a very young team that is going to have to mesh early. We think they have the ability to do that. They have been successful kids in their in their middle school years and JV time. We’re going to give it heck and see if we can make a run into December and you never know what can happen when you get to December football.”
