COLLINSVILLE, Texas (KXII) - The Collinsville Pirates have big expectations this season after coming off a 2-deep playoff run.
The Pirates have several key players returning in year two under head coach Garrett Patterson. This team is now more familiar with the system and more comfortable with what they are being asked to do.
“Year two is always better than year one, because kids know your expectations and how systems work and how to go,” Patterson said. “So I feel pretty good about where we are.”
Collinsville is always in the playoff mix and they expect no different this year. It is a competitive district with Lindsay, Tom Bean, Trenton and Tioga. It’s a district that the Pirates want to get to the top of.
“Three rounds is always our major goal,” Patterson said. If you can play three rounds you are a very good program. I like this team a lot. They enjoy being around each other and playing the game. We’ll see what happens, but I feel very good about this group.”
