Sherman ministry holding school supply drive
SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - In Christ Ministries in Sherman is collecting school supplies to give to anyone in need.
They decided to start the supply drive because of how COVID-19 is affecting families, including those struggling with unemployment.
On Aug. 15, they will be holding a drop-off day between Buddy’s Home Furnishings and Save-A-Lot on Texoma Parkway. They will also be selling baked goods to raise money to buy more school supplies.
“My motto is it takes a village to raise a child, and that’s what we want to do. We want the children to have the proper supplies they need in school. We need everything and anything that people are willing to give to make sure these kids have the proper materials. Education is very, very important,” said founder Rhonda Jackson.
The group is also asking for donations of reusable masks for students.
The drive will be going on until Aug. 23. Anyone with questions about where to drop off supplies can reach out to the In Christ Ministries Facebook page.
