DENISON, Texas (KXII) - A Denison pastor is facing a federal charge for transporting child pornography.

David Pettigrew was arrested Thursday by Department of Homeland Security agents, according to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.

His bio on the Denison Church of the Nazarene website says he’s been the pastor there for 14 years.

A neighbor says Thursday morning, she saw law enforcement cars lining the street where he lives and searching Pettigrew’s car along with a church van parked at his house.

He spent the night in the Grayson County Jail and was released to federal agents Friday.

A criminal complaint filed against David Pettigrew states at the end of May, he transported child pornography in Grayson County.

His federal case was opened Friday in the Eastern District of Texas.

According to a video on the congregation’s Facebook page, Pettigrew preached at a Bible study on Wednesday, the night before his arrest.

A spokesman for the North/East Texas District Church of the Nazarene said they declined to comment.

When asked if Pettigrew is still employed there, the spokesman said he’s not in a position to talk about his current situation without legal counsel.

We reached out to the local church for comment and haven’t heard back.
