SADLER, Texas (KXII) - The S&S Rams are looking to take a big step forward this season in year two of the Josh Aleman era.
Aleman inherited a young team that went 1-9 last year. With nine starters returning on both sides of the ball and a big senior class, the Rams have gained valuable experience and familiarity that should serve them well.
“I like the senior leadership,” Aleman said. “We have 15 seniors, they’ve been around for awhile. They are leading by example right now. Even with the weight workouts this summer with what we’re doing. that’s what I love about them. These kids work hard, they deserve every opportunity they get.”
The Rams are a in rugged district with Gunter, Bells, Leonard and Whitewright. Playoff spots could dry up quickly. The Rams expect to be overlooked but that doesn’t change what this team expects to accomplish.
“Our expectations are to win. It’s that simple,” Aleman said. “I told the kids and the coaches that we’re going to do everything it takes to win ball games. We’re in the process of doing that right now.”
