MARSHALL COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a man is in critical condition after crashing while trying to get away from law enforcement.

OHP says the crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Powell Road, a few miles southeast of Lebanon.

Troopers say Edwin Dodd, 42, failed to negotiate a curve on his motorcycle while leading local law enforcement on a high-speed chase.

Dodd’s motorcycle went off the roadway and struck a tree.

He was flown to a Plano hospital in critical condition.

OHP lists unsafe speed as the cause of the crash.
