Five COVID-19 related deaths from Bonham veterans home

BONHAM, Texas (KXII) - There have been five COVID-19 related deaths at a veterans nursing home in Fannin County since October, according to state records.

A spokesperson with the Texas General Land Office told News 12 in an Email that between October 7 and 21, five people have died of COVID-19 at the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.

That number comes after 49 total residents of the facility tested positive for the virus.

As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, there are 22 residents with COVID-19, currently living at the veteran’s home.

A spokesperson for the Texas General Land Office said that 11 staff members currently tested positive for COVID-19.

They also said that 16 residents, and 23 staff members have recovered from the virus.
