Sherman pharmacy burglarized
SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -A Sherman pharmacy was burglarized early Friday morning.
The owner of Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy said three men broke in and stole around $700 worth of drugs that were locked up.
Surveillance footage shows three men dressed in dark clothes with masks covering their faces take a sledge hammer to the dead bolt on the back door of the pharmacy.
Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy Owner Jana Bennett said they had several patients that had to go without their medication over the weekend because they were burglarized.
“To walk in and see all of the drugs on the floor and all of our cabinets open, they even went up stairs,” Bennett said. “You just feel really violated.”
They took full bottles of hydrocodone and trammadal, oxicodone, adderall and a pint of promethozine with codeine.
Joann Polk uses the pharmacy and said it’s a great community place.
“For someone to come in and break in to steal the important drugs, that’s a shame,” Pole said.
Bennett said as a pharmacist she tries to be compassionate in the medicine field.
“be like ‘hey if you’re in pain you need this medicine.’ We just have to kind of follow the rules, follow the channels to get you your medication but you’ve got to do it the legal way,” Bennett said.
Bennett says a few weeks ago around the same time in the morning three men tried breaking into the pharmacy through the front door.
They caused so much damage that time the pharmacy had to order new doors.
Sherman police say this is an ongoing investigation.
