ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) - Ardmore Parks and Rec cut the ribbon on brand-new pickleball courts Wednesday morning.

The project was in the works for about 18 months.

The six courts were paid for by donors and money raised by the Ardmore Pickleball Club.

Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong.

Ardmore Pickleball enthusiast Kelli Hobbs said she’s been playing a year now and loves the game.

“I love staying active and the friendships that we make,” Hobbs said.

Ardmore Pickleball ambassador Pam Stout said its a fun game for all ages.

“It’s easy to learn,” Stout said. “People think they can’t learn it- well you can learn it. After one time you know the rules and by the second time, you’re hooked.”

The Ardmore Pickleball Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Find more information here.
