Bells’ Smith signs with NCTC, High goes to Hardin-Simmons
BELLS, Texas (KXII) - A pair of Bells Panthers will be playing sports at the college level with Gabby Smith signing with NCTC for softball and Keaton High heading to Hardin-Simmons for baseball.
Smith has been a standout player for the Lady Panthers in multiple sports, including serving as a key part of a state championship team at Bells. She will make the move to Gainesville to play for the Lady Lions.
“It’s really relieving,” Smith said. “It’s a lot of stress off my shoulders. I’m just really excited to continue my softball career and play the sport I love at NCTC.”
High is making the move to Hardin-Simmons to play his college baseball. He has been a terrific athlete for a good Bells baseball program and he is excited to take the next step.
“It feels really surreal right now,” High said. “It’s been my dream ever since I was little to play college baseball. Just to know that it’s really coming true is insane. I can’t believe it.”
