DENISON, Texas (KXII) - The city of Denison is celebrating their sesquicentennial this year, and just last week they found a time capsule from their Centennial.

In a video shared on the City of Denison’s Facebook page, workers dug up the capsule that was buried back in 1972.

According to the city of Denison, it was quite a treasure hunt and it took months to track the time capsule down, but it turned out to be right in the front lobby of the Denison Police Department.

As far as what was inside, you’ll have to keep waiting.

The city said you will have to stay tuned to see what was left behind.

TIME CAPSULE!! ⏱ We recently found our Centennial Time Capsule ... buried in 1972! This year we are celebrating our Sesquicentennial!! We’re 150 years old! After months of trying to track it down (it was quite the treasure hunt) we found it in the lobby of the Denison Texas Police Department!! With some help, we dug it up, and this was result! ⤵️ (Stay tuned to find out what's inside!)
