Man pleads guilty in 2020 shooting death of Tioga man

TIOGA, Texas (KXII) - A guilty plea was made Wednesday morning in the shooting death of a Tioga man four years ago.
According to court records, John Crockett III, 35, plead guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to five years in state prison.
The shooting happened at a home on Scoggins Road in Tioga in July 2020.
Deputies said Crockett and Charles Dewitt got into an argument then Crockett shot Dewitt multiple times.
Dewitt died at the scene.
Crockett was originally arrested for murder.
