Overnight closures begin Sunday on US-75 in Denison for Spur 503 bridge demolition
DENISON, Texas (KXII) - Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials this week announced an upcoming closure of US-75 main lanes and westbound Spur 503.
The closure is to facilitate the demolition of westbound Spur 503 bridge, TxDOT said.
On December 8, 2024 beginning at 9:00 pm several major closures will occur:
· Full closure of the southbound main lanes of US 75 at N Loy Lake Road to Iron Ore Creek Dr (from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.)
· Full closure of westbound Spur 503 (this closure is anticipated to last until spring)
On December 9, 2024 beginning at 9:00 pm, the following closure will occur:
· Full closure of the northbound main lanes of US 75 at Exit 66 (Spur 503) to N Loy Lake Road (from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.)
Travelers in the area need to be aware of equipment entering and exiting the work site and that the roadway will be closed and the detour in place. Travelers are asked to pay special attention to signs while this construction is underway.
During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones.
TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
