David Reed

David has been the Sports Director and Sports Anchor at KXII-TV since July 2001. A local product, David graduated from Whitesboro High School before heading off to Baylor University.

David began his broadcasting career in 1994 at KCEN-TV in Waco, where he covered sports and news. David became a full time sports reporter in 1995, when he moved to College Station to cover Texas A&M at KBTX-TV. It was there he had a chance to cover those classic battles between the Aggies and Longhorns.

In 1998, David took a job at KTBC-TV in Austin, where he covered the other member of the rivalry, the Texas Longhorns. He was on the field for Ricky Williams' record breaking run to become the nation's all-time leading rusher. He has also covered several Big 12 title games, OU-Texas border wars, the NBA Finals with the Spurs, and NCAA Tournament basketball.

David returned home to Grayson County in 2001, where he has the opportunity to cover the sports he was raised watching and playing. He has won several awards during his time at KXII. He was honored by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters in 2014 for the state's best sportscast. The OAB also honored David and the KXII sports department in 2011 and 2008. The Oklahoma Associated Press awarded David their top sportscast award in 2012, 2013 and 2014. David has also been honored by the TAPB as Sportscaster of the Year in 2004, 2009, 2011 and 2015.

David enjoys covering Texoma sports and has covered everything from the Battle of the Axe, to the Mavericks run to the 2006 and 2011 NBA Finals. He has covered several major bowl games including the Cotton, Orange, Fiesta, Sugar, and Alamo Bowl. He has covered many local high school teams making it to state, and has covered almost all of the Red River Rivalry games since the turn of the century.

David and his wife Jennifer have two sons, Peyton and Preston. David enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, watching his Baylor Bears, playing fantasy sports, and covering local athletic events. He is a member of Parkside Baptist Church in Denison.
