Steve LaNore is the Chief Meteorologist at KXII-TV. He worked the "big markets" including Dallas, Austin and San Antonio before making the move to Texoma in 2006. He said it was one of the best decisions he has ever made, getting out of the stress and mega-traffic of the big city and moving to such a pretty place with a slower pace...and plenty of weather challenges for sure!
LaNore says he's a typical "weather geek" (and that's a good thing!); he also has a passion for writing and has two published books available on Amazon.
His book "Weather Wits and Science Snickers" won a 1st-place NFPW award for children's non-fiction in 2013, and a "Mom's Choice" award the same year.
In 2014 he released a second book for a general adult audience, "Twister Tales: Unraveling Tornado Myths". It tackles common severe weather misconceptions head-on and also takes an in-depth look at the 10 deadliest U.S. tornadoes.
Steve has a variety of interests beyond storm tracking including music, history, DIY at home, binge-watching great series on TV and playing Texas Hold 'Em poker.
