Former Whitesboro teacher arrested for solicitation of a minor

MESQUITE, Tex. (KXII) - A former Whitesboro band director has been arrested for solicitation of a minor.

Jim Cude, the current North Mesquite high school band director, was arrested at a Dallas shopping center where he planned to meet a 13-year-old boy for sex.

Court documents say Cude sent sexually graphic messages to an undercover officer posing as a 13-year-old boy on the dating app Grindr.

The district said in a letter it was not aware of any inappropriate behavior involving Mesquite students.

Cude has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of his criminal case.

He was the Whitesboro band director for over a decade.
