SULPHUR, Okla. (KXII) - An Edmond woman is dead and her 68-year-old Ardmore father-in-law has been jailed for murder after a shooting Sunday evening in the Sulphur Walmart parking lot.
Officials say the victim was 43-year-old Jaclyn Chaney of Edmond. She was shot multiple times.
68-year-old Alan Chaney of Ardmore, Jaclyn's father-in-law, was arrested for first degree murder. He was waiting by his truck when police arrived.
Jaclyn's husband, 35-year-old Mitchell Chaney of Ardmore, was detained for questioning.
Deputies say a call came in around 6 p.m. Sunday regarding a shooting at a Walmart parking lot in Sulphur.
They say Jaclyn and Mitchell were going through a divorce and met at the Walmart for a child exchange.
Jaclyn had filed a protective order against Mitchell in February.
Mitchell and two children were inside the Walmart at the time of the shooting.
The children are staying with a relative. Their ages have not been released.
