Intoxicated truck driver arrested in crash that killed teen, injured 2 others

COLLINSVILLE, Tex. (KXII) - A man is accused of driving while intoxicated and killing a teenager in a crash near Collinsville Wednesday afternoon.

Troopers say 34-year-old Christopher Downing was driving south on U.S. Highway 377 in a commercial truck around 2 p.m.

They say Downing lost control, rolled and hit a pickup with a man and three teenagers inside.

The man and two 16-year-old passengers were seriously injured.

A 13-year-old passenger was killed.

Their names have not yet been released.

Downing is in jail charged with intoxication manslaughter and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

It is also not yet known if he was intoxicated on drugs, alcohol or both.
