1 killed, 1 injured in crash by Leonard high school

LEONARD, Tex. (KXII) - One person was killed and another injured in a Fannin County crash Wedneday evening.

Two cars were involved. Both drivers were flown to a Plano hospital.

One of the drivers, a 71-year-old woman from Longview, Texas was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.

The second driver was admitted for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say it happened around 5 p.m. in front of Leonard High School. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

U.S. Highway 69 was shut down while medical helicopters landed on the highway.
