DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - Durant police say two men have been arrested for murder and robbery after a shooting that left another man dead just before midnight on Monday.

Police said Tuesday morning that two men identified as 28-year-old Daniel Dailey and 18-year-old Jacqorion Ellison admitted they conspired to rob 21-year-old Zachary McCullar of his marijuana he had agreed to sell to them.

It happened around 11:45 at the Econolodge on West Main and US Highway 69/75.

Durant Police Captain Brock Jones says one person was shot in the head and then a white truck drove off.

Officers tracked down the truck less than an hour later in front of the Choctaw Casino on US-75.

Police said when the victim started to fight back during the robbery, they shot him one time. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Both men were arrested following their interviews and booked into the Bryan County jail for murder and robbery.

Hailey Dooley works at the Jack-in-the-Box right next door to the motel and called 9-1-1 after she heard the shot fired.

"I heard the lady screaming so I ran over there and I asked if everything was okay and they said no, he was shot in the head," said Dooley. "One of the police people immediately started looking for a shell casing and another one, I guess the partner, went over to check him and then they immediately called an ambulance."
