The Oklahoma Health Department tested 30 people for COVID-19 on Thursday at a drive-thru testing center in Marietta.

Crews set up outside the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the goal of testing more people who speak Spanish.

The state health department for district eight said it has done more than 600 tests between six drive-thru centers and curbside testing, with most coming back negative.

"That's a good sign for our community, but I'm also working with officials about what that might mean and how in comparison to what we're seeing in other parts of the state, what are some things we might need to be thinking about and planning for as we move forward?" said Regional Administrative Director Mendy Spohn.

Health department officials are discussing plans for drive-thru testing in Johnston and Marshall counties next week.

Free curbside testing is available by appointment at county health departments in Oklahoma.
