42% of Grayson County COVID-19 cases tied to Tyson Foods

Grayson County Judge Bill Magers says about 42% of COVID-19 cases in the County are tied to the Tyson Foods plant in Sherman.

As of Friday, Grayson County has had 327 positive cases. Magers said around 138 of those are employees at Tyson.

"Because Tyson is our largest industrial employer in Grayson County, they're going t have a bigger number. It's as simple as that," Magers said.

Ninety-six of those 138 employees have recovered, and 41 are currently sick.

Magers said Tyson is holding ongoing testing at the Sherman plant, so any employees showing symptoms can be diagnosed and quarantined right away.

Magers expects the number of Grayson County cases tied to the plant will continue to drop next week.
