FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - The Fannin County Sheriff's Office says that 44-year-old Robert Allen Stevenson shot his 66-year-old mother and 76-year-old stepfather after a domestic dispute.

It happened on Tuesday morning, around 10:30 a.m on FM 273 in Telephone, TX.

The sheriff's office says the couple were riding their tractor to the son's property when he opened fire on them with a shotgun.

What exactly caused Stevenson to fire at them is still under investigation.

After being shot, the mother messaged the sheriff's office for help through her computer on Facebook since she didn't have her phone.

When the Fannin County Sheriff's Office tried getting back in touch with her, there was no response that's when deputies drove to the house and were met at the door by Robert Allen Stevenson, who admitted he shot his own mother and stepfather.

Both were taken to a local hospital and are expected to survive.

The mother was shot on her hand, and may lose her finger, the stepfather was shot in the chin.

The 44-year old son was arrested without incident.
