903 Brewers hosting queso competition benefiting Sherman Museum

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - For the first time, 903 Brewers will be holding a queso competition.

The contest has a $25 entry fee, with all proceeds going to the Sherman Museum.

Queso makers will be entered for a chance to win cash prizes. Anyone who doesn't have queso to enter can bring their appetite and $10 to be a queso taste-tester.

The Sherman Museum is a special place to 903 Brewers owners Jeremy and Natalie Roberts, which is why they wanted to help raise money for them.

"So the Sherman museum is such a hidden treasure in our town. It's been around forever. I have two children, my son absolutely loves going. Some of their funding has been cut, we saw that in the fall, so we just knew, Natalie and I, we had to do something," said Jeremy.

Queso competitors can show up at 10 a.m. Saturday. Doors open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you just aren't into queso, News 12's Jen Phillips will be performing at the event.
