Celebrating Halloween with food allergies

The Teal Pumpkin Project is a national campaign for a safer, happier Halloween. Its purpose is to raise awareness of life-threatening food allergies and make sure kids with food allergies and those who cannot have candy are included in Halloween celebrations.

The best way to make sure all children are included is to provide non-food treats in addition to candy during Halloween.

There are many great options, such as glow bracelets, spider rings, pencils, stickers, bubbles, temporary tattoos and playing cards.

The Teal Pumpkin Project also encourages you to paint a pumpkin teal and hang their free downloadable sign from foodallergy.org in your window or on your front door to let kids know you have alternative treats available.
