Ardmore police investigate strong armed robbery

ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) - Ardmore police are looking for two people they say robbed the Flying J Travel Center at Interstate 35 and Veterans Boulevard early Friday morning.

Sgt. Brice Wooly says officers were called to the store on NW Cooper Drive around 3:30 a.m. where the clerk told them a heavy set black woman and a slender black man entered the store, knocked down the clerk, and took money from the registers.

The pair fled in a silver late model four-door sedan with damage to the rear driver's side of the car, Wooly said.

Wooly said no weapons were used, and the clerk was not injured.

He said it's unknown at this time how much money was stolen.

Anyone who saw something in the area is asked to call police at 580-223-1212.
