ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) Ardmore Tiger football fans lined Veterans Boulevard in Ardmore Friday afternoon to send off their team as they traveled to Oklahoma City to take on Bishop Kelley out of Tulsa.
Alisha Taylor cheered on her son, Nathan Taylor, a senior on the team this year.
"We are so excited to send them off," Taylor said. "We're really hoping for a win tonight."
Taylor said she got chills seeing all the people come out to support the team.
"I wish I could have seen all the way down because there was so many people here," she said. "I just love it. I think it's great."
Ardmore Head Coach Josh Newby said he is grateful to the community for the support this season.
"We live in a great place," Newby said. "Ardmore's a great community. It's been great to me and my family for over 20 years and it's been great to our young men this year."
Newby said the community support has made a positive experience for the players.
"We're so excited that there's a sendoff for us and it's going to be a neat time in our young people's lives."
