Suspect in Penn Square Mall shooting turns self in to police
The man accused of shooting another man inside Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon has been identified and arrested after turning himself in to police Friday.
Elizha Sanders, 24, was taken to the Oklahoma County Jail for assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
The Oklahoma City Police Department says just before 4 p.m. they were called about a shooting at the Foot Locker inside the mall.
Police say Sanders got into an argument with Garron Cobb, 22, that ended with Cobb being shot in the chest. Sanders fled the scene.
Cobb was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
The mall was put on lockdown and shoppers and employees were evacuated while officers searched the property for Sanders.
Officers say Sanders left the mall through an exit on the south side of the building. He turned himself in to police around 1:30 a.m.
Officials say the Oklahoma City Thunder was at the mall for a private screening of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. They were escorted from the building safely.
