Beloved Fannin Co. JP dies at 72

LEONARD, Texas (KXII) -- A beloved Fannin County Justice of the Peace has died at age 72.

We're told Judge Alan Hale of Precinct 2 passed away Friday due to natural causes.

Relatives tell us he passed peacefully at his home in Leonard surrounded by family and friends.

Hale served the county as a Justice of the Peace for 13 years.

He also donated his time to the Fannin County Children's Center, enjoyed being on many county boards and civic groups, was well-known for his woodwork and served in the US Navy.

Hale's funeral will be held Monday at Willow Wild Cemetery at 3 p.m.
