BRYAN COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - The Bryan County Sheriff's Office raised money Friday afternoon looking to upgrade their patrol cars.
The Sheriff's Office raised money to install cages in all of their patrol cars.
The event was hosted at First United Bank in Durant.
Lunch cost $5, and the proceeds went to the Sheriff's Office to help fund the upgrade.
Bryan County Sheriff Johnny Christian says the cages are meant for the safety of his deputies during transport.
"For the distance and safety reasons, it's nice to be able to put them in the backseat, separation to create safety," said Christian.
Christian says while some of the patrol cars do have cages, the goal was to raise enough money to install cages in every patrol car.
