DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says southbound US Highway 69-75 at Choctaw Road in Durant has reopened after a fatal crash involving three 18-wheelers early Tuesday morning.
Durant police say the three semi trucks collided at the intersection near Choctaw Casino Resort around 4 a.m.
Police said the driver of a big rig heading south failed to yield at the red light and hit two other trucks.
One driver was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. A passenger in that same truck died at the scene.
We're told thick fog Monday morning likely played a role in the crash.
No names have yet been released.
