DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - Early Saturday morning, what started as a trip to Joe's Bar east of Durant for one man, ended up to be a care flight to the hospital.
Bryan County Sheriff Johnny Christian says, after getting stabbed twice in the chest and getting his neck slashed, Jon Nunn got in his car and drove right to a deputy who just happened to have someone pulled over on highway 70 near the bar.
"I had a deputy that made a traffic stop near Joe's bar, and while he was on the traffic stop, the victim came up to his patrol car and notified him what had happened to him," said Christian.
The deputy gave medical aid to Nunn who was then flown to a local hospital.
James Hamill was arrested inside the bar shortly after the incident for assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Christian said he's not aware of any previous calls to the bar for anything like this.
The bar tender who was working during the incident says he did not see what happened and declined to comment.
One of Nunn's family members says he has been treated and released from the hospital.
Christian says they have not determined what led up to the stabbing.
"Right now in the preliminary side of the investigation, it looks like just the subject and the victim that's involved," said Christian.
Sheriff Christian says this case is still an ongoing investigation.
