SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) -- A popular Denison coffee shop is expanding. CJ's Coffee Cafe plans to open up a second location in Sherman.
CJ's new Sherman location
"It's just the atmosphere and when you walk in you know that the people who work there know you and make you feel very welcome and it's a very comfortable setting," said CJ's regular Caitlyn Collins.
Regulars at downtown Denison's Country Java, better known as CJ's, share their favorite treats.
"My favorite thing is the honey lavender latte," said CJ's regular Lindsey Manley.
"I love the grilled chicken salad," Collins said. "The dirty chi latte and peanut butter honey protein shake."
Locals will soon be able to get their favorite cup of Joe in Sherman.
"So excited they're going to be here in Sherman," Manley said.
CJ's food truck marks the spot where they're planning to open up at the old Donutstein store off Travis and Highway 75.
But the owner says they've got a lot of remodeling to do before they open up shop.
"We've got a lot going on," CJ's owner Nancy Gentry said.
The three-thousand square foot shop will feature a lounge, computer tables for studying and more.
"Lots of parking opportunities, drive thru going on, we'll have a patio out here with umbrella tables where people can sit outside," Gentry said.
And will have an expanded menu with more food options.
"Expanding into Sherman on the way to downtown, I think they'll pick up a lot of great customers," Manley said. "And I'm excited for them to be here."
"I'm really excited I won't have to go all the way to Denison now," Collins said. "I'll probably end up going even more which may or may not be a good thing for me."
The Sherman CJ's is set to open in late April.
