Carter Co. man arrested for possessing child pornography

CARTER COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A Carter County man is facing criminal charges for possession of child pornography.

The Carter County sheriff's office said deputies arrested 31-year-old Connor Tubbs at a home east of Dickson on State Highway 199 on Wednesday.

The sheriff's office said it got information in November from the FBI saying it had found a computer address in the Ardmore area distributing files of sexually exploited children.

After an investigation, Tubbs was found to have several images and videos showing sexual acts with children and animals.

One neighbor, who wanted to remain anonymous, said he was shocked.

"It's very, very disturbing, actually, to know that someone like that is in our community," he said. "Pornography of any kind, I think, is a waste of anybody's time. It's just not a good thing, especially child pornography. That's innocent children being put out there."

That is why Sheriff Chris Bryant said his office is cracking down.

"When you are targeting children, and you're downloading pornography and sexual acts on children, (that) is just hideous."

Bryant said a bust like this takes effort from everyone, to keep their eyes peeled and report anything suspicious.

"But the biggest thing is: let us know what's happening and going on," Bryant said. "So that way we can investigate it and that way we can move forward and put people like this behind bars."

Tubbs is charged with two counts of possessing juvenile pornography and one count of violating Oklahoma state statute.

Court records show he posted a $10,000 bond and will be back in court in February.

Tubbs could face up to 45 years in prison if found guilty on all charges.
