Choctaw Casino & Resort - Durant announces expansion

DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma announced Tuesday they will expand their resort property in Durant for the fourth time since the original casino opened in 2006.

A tribal spokesperson said the expansion will mean more hotel rooms, a larger gaming floor and new amenities like additional pools and a lazy river, a parking garage, new retail space, a conference center, and new food, beverage and entertainment options.

Construction is expected to begin in late Spring 2019, and it will take an estimated 24 months to complete.

The expansion will bring more than 1,000 new jobs to Bryan County.
