DENISON, Tex. (KXII) - The City of Denison is looking to get more than $1 million from the CARES Act.
A representative says the city is seeking $1.4 million from the federal government for economic relief from the effects of COVID-19.
Kimberly Bowen with the City of Denison outlines what the money will be used for.
"Any expenses that are associated with the provision of economic support, such as grants to small businesses to reimburse the costs (the pandemic caused)," Bowen said.
She says the money will need to be spent by the end of the year.
