Convicted sex offender arrested living near Johnston Co. park, failing to register

TISHOMINGO, Okla. (KXII) - A convicted sex offender is facing two felony charges in Johnston County for failure to register and living within 2,000 feet of a park

Court records show Billy Bishop Jr. was charged for not registering as a sex offender in Tishomingo and as well as living within 140 feet of Pennington Creek Park.

Records state Bishop was convicted in 2006 in Pontotoc County for lewd acts to a child and second degree rape.

If convicted, Bishop could spend up to eight years in prison.
