Denison approves a $113K contract to begin demolition on damaged buildings on Main St.

DENISON, Tex. (KXII) The cleanup process will now officially begin for what's left of the three buildings on Denison's main street that were destroyed by fire less than a month ago.

The City Council approved a $113,000 contract Monday night, with Intercon Demolition, which will include knocking down all three buildings in a safe order.

Denison City Manager Jud Rex said that this is the city's goal in moving forward.

"We'd hope to begin the cleanup process within the next 30 days," said Rex.

Rex said it will likely be a 60 day clean up process.
