Denison Culver's serves free food to first responders

DENISON, Tex. (KXII) - A new fast-food restaurant in Denison served up some free food for first responders Friday.

Culver's, the new burger joint in Gateway Village, welcomed in first responders to serve them free food.

Restaurant owner Brad Bishop says they gave food to first responders as parting of the training for the 68 employees before the location officially opens.

Instead of tossing the food they make in the kitchen, they figured it's better to serve those who serve the community.

"It's something that a lot of Culver's restaurants have done and been successful doing, and we wanted to do it as well," Bishop said.

The restaurant will have its grand opening January 13.
