Starting December 7th, the Denison Public Library will hosts several winter events open to the public.
On December 7th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the Library hosts its 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting with special performances by the Children's Chorus of Greater North Texas and Grace Lutheran Church Handbell Choir. Santa Claus will make a special guest appearance.
On December 8th, The Denison Public Library is celebrating Polar Express Day starting at 10:00 a.m. The day begins with an interactive performance of The Polar Express, told by Phil the Conductor of the Polar Express. This interactive performance will incorporate elements from the book and movie version of this story, and children will have a chance to help act out the story. The fun continues at 11:00 a.m. with activities and displays from the Red River Railroad Museum. At noon, there will be a full length showing of The Polar Express. Please bring your blankets and the Library will supply the hot chocolate and snacks.
Then on December 15th at 10:00 a.m., the Library is having a Sculpture Dedication Ceremony. There will be a ribbon cutting, sculptor presentation and refreshments. The public is invited.
