City leaders in Denison say they have acted in response to their town appearing on a recent list of police departments with officers who made Facebook posts that appeared to endorse violence, racism, and bigotry.
City manager Jud Rex says of the four Denison officers responsible for the posts, one is no longer employed by the department, one was issued a written reprimand, and the others were “appropriately counseled,” but would not provide further details.
The officers will also undergo additional sensitivity training, the city said in a written statement.
The posts were collected by the Plain View Project, a database of public posts made by current and former cops across the country.
